If you are interested in celebrating the Sacrament of Marriage at St. Paul, please read the information below and fill out the form. Thank you!
The Time of the Wedding
Marriages are celebrated on Saturdays at 1:00 p.m. and on Fridays at 5:00 p.m. The rehearsal time is 5:00 p.m. and will be scheduled with the pastor or the wedding coordinator.
A program of marriage preparation is required for all couples. Foccus, an instrument to facilitate communication, must also be taken and completed before attending a Pre-Cana class. Our parish Pre-Cana program is offered twice a year at St. Paul the Apostle Church . For dates and more information about these programs, click here or contact the parish office.
While there is no charge for the use of the church itself, there is a fee of $500.00, which must be paid two weeks prior to wedding service. This fee includes the following:
- The Wedding Coordinator: The wedding coordinator, Peggy Marshall, will meet with the couple to plan the wedding ceremony. She will discuss with them all pertinent details, such as processions, readings, seating, photography, flowers, candelabras, etc. She will conduct the rehearsal and be present on the day of the wedding. Peggy can be contacted at the parish office, 616-949-4170 ext. 244.
- The Music Director: The Music Director will arrange the music with the couple and will provide the piano and organ music. The services of a cantor, vocalists, and other instrumentalists are additional. Payment must be made directly to these individuals. If the wedding ceremony takes place in the context of the Mass, the services of a cantor are required.
- Foccus: The fee includes the cost of the Foccus profile and the associated interview. Contact Beth Kolenda-Spencer for more information.
Please be aware that it may be necessary to schedule a funeral Mass on a Saturday morning. If the need arises, the time of your wedding ceremony will not change.
Gratuities for any other persons involved with the wedding ceremony are at the discretion of the couple.
The Wedding Ceremony
If the wedding is between two Catholics, the wedding ceremony may take place in the context of a Mass. If one party is not Catholic, the ceremony takes place without a Mass. For more information, including outlines of the ceremony, please contact Peggy Marshall.
