Answering the Call to Serve
Are you an Adult Liturgical Minister or would you like to be considered for an Adult Liturgical Ministry? There will be a Diocesan and Parish training session at St. Paul on Saturday, October 5, 1-3 p.m.
To be an Adult Liturgical Minister, you must be a Confirmed member of the Catholic Church who embraces the Catholic faith in its entirety, and strives to practice it in your daily life. This training will be for the following Liturgical Ministries:
¨ Scripture Readers
¨ EMHCs (Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion) for Mass
¨ EMHCs for those visiting the sick and homebound
1-1:45 p.m. Diocese instruction by Aaron Sanders, Director of Sacred Liturgy
1:45-2 p.m. Break (snacks and beverages provided)
2-3 p.m. Specified training for individual ministries
Those who are currently serving and have not attended a training in the last two years are strongly encouraged to attend. *IMPORTANT NOTE: This training is required for those who have not yet been commissioned to be an EMHC (which would occur after a Sunday Mass at a later date.) EMHC commissions are valid for 5 years and require this training for renewal. Please contact Deacon Michael, firstname.lastname@example.org or 616-949-4170 ext. 241, to register or, if you are unable to attend this training, to set up a one-on-one session.
